Beautifully executed hand-coloured copper engravings of Sailing Ships, drawn and etched by E.W.Cooke (1811-1880). In the tender age of  nine, he engraved some botanical plates, amongst others, for Loudon’s Encyclopedia of Plants, but turned to maritime themes from 1825 onwards. Shipping and Crafts is his best known work. – The plates measure 17 x 21 cm; the colouring is modern.
