A beautiful and decorative large map of the American continent, reaching from Hudson Bay to Tierra del Fuego, with Europe and North Africa to the East. With privilege and Buache’s signature. According to Tooley (America), this is ‘an unchanged reissue of the first edition of 1722 apart from the new imprint and a foliate garland added to the original cartouche.’
De l’Isle was a French cartographer and pupil of Cassini. He was one of the most important and influential French mapmakers of the early 18th century.
