copper engraved print with some old colouring; plate 15,5 x 15,5 cm. paper slightly browned; one 2cm long tear into image in right margin; o/w vg cond.
A very charming late 18thc French engraving of country folks playing La Crosse; possibly on eof the earliest depiction of this game! [As soon as the grape harvest is made, the shepherd lays down his crook and the game takes place, while he warms up enjoying himself.]
