A very interesting print, showing women being actively involved in chemistry. The captions read: 'Progressive Woman: Lady Chemists In The University At Leeds.' - 'Women and Men working at Chemical Research in Leeds University Laboratories. The new laboratories at Leeds University, opened by the King on July 7th, represent the last word in equipment for scientific research. The University is open to women, and men and women work together in all the departments.
For a long time, prints from newspaper were regarded as less important and sought after but are now being recognised as invaluable witnesses to important historical events.
