Hendrick de Leth the Elder (1703-1766) was the son of Andries de Leth (c1662-1731), a well-known print seller, engraver and mapmaker in Amsterdam with whom he worked. Apart from publishing books together with his father – see above - ,  Hendrik sold globes and produced large prints, topographical maps and views. – The prints are copper engravings; the plates measure 17 x 21 cm.
