Hortus Indicus is the first comprehensive catalogue of plants from the East Indies. Rheede 1636-91) was the Governor of the Dutch Possessions in India and an enthusiastic botanist. The plant names are written in Latin, Sanskrit, Arabic and Malayalam. – Copper engravings; plate size approx. 34 x 44,5 cm; repairs to some of the plates, see individual description. Please note that all repairs have been executed to the highest standard.
