This map shows parts of Southern China with Hainan, Canton and Macao, Lantau and Lamma Islands,from Vandermaelend’s six volumes Atlas Universel. HongKong is not named and appears as two islands.
Vandermaelen was a Belgian cartographer and publisher. His atlas was the first one to contain lithographed maps as well as the first one which mapped the entire world on a uniform scale, making up an enormous globe!
