We are very pleased being able to offer these stunning, life-sized orchid prints for sale which are from a 4 volume work by H.F.C. Sander, containing 192 prints. They are from the Volume 1 of the Imperial edition which was limited to 100 copies; this is from copy no. 27. In contrast to the later editions, the prints are pasted onto cardboard and the title is outside the print. The Imperial edition is much rarer and more sought after than the later Moon edition!
Sander was a German born nurseryman from Bremen who later settled in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England, dedicating his life to the growing of orchids. He named his monumental work after the great orchidologist Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach.
