Kelen was a Hungarian illustrator and caricaturist. In the 1920s and 1930s, he worked as a political illustrator for European newspapers before he emigrated to America together with his friend and colleague Alois Derso in 1938 where they both worked for Esquire, New York Times, New York Post and Washington Post.
This very charming print shows a sailor kissing a girl, literally whisking her off the floor.
