Large decorative cartouche embellished with the coat-of-arms of the French King, indigenous people and fauna, and a large vignette with mile scales, again decorated with natives.

This map was republished by Mortier and does not bear a date in the title banner nor anywhere else on the map, though there areraces of the date having been erased; however, Mortier started publishing this map from 1692 onwards though Tooley is dating it at 1700. - Mortier (1661-1711) was a Dutch publisher, map and book seller in Amsterdam who was is in strong competition with Valck & Schenk et al in publishing and distributing maps by Sanson and Jaillot.
