This scarce and very detailed map of California, the Baia and parts of Arizona and New Mexico is from the Dutch edition of Bellin’s Histoire Generale and is based on Padre Miguel Venegas’ ‘Noticias de California...’(published in Madrid in 1757 and thought to be the first history of California) and updates from Father Kino’s explorations of this area. The map was engraved by A. van Krevelt.
