A rare modern Turkish atlas for middle schools which is based on the education system of the Western World by Faik Sabri Duran. The atlas contains 2 world maps, North and South America, Australia, Africa, 3 Asia, 5 Europe, 2 Arabia and 2 Turkey as well as many diagrams. Maps are printed back to back. This is the 1. edition of 1928; the 2nd edition of 1934 is in Latin script.
After studying at the Sorbonne, Faik Sabri Duran returned to Turkey in 1912, and started teaching Geography at the İstanbul University Faculty of Literature. Together with the German geographer Erich Obst , he led the Geography Institute at the Istanbul University. In 1941, he took part in the First Geography Congress and was also one of the founders of the Turkish Geography Institution.
